Humber May Not Be Superfluous To White Sox Bullpen

For all intents and purposes, his career came to an end when in August, 1967, Angel’s Pitcher Jack Hamilton hit him in the face. He was never the same and although he tried a comeback, lingering problems from the beaning forced him to retire. He died in his early 40’s.

He could be in the mix for a bullpen role, but given he was better as a double-A starter than triple-A reliever in 2010 he could see some extended innings this spring as the Sox gauge his viability as a starting option. While his starting success didn’t come in Charlotte, he probably has as good a shot to pitch well this March than Humber and/or Harrell just given their meddling triple-A numbers.

The Tigers averaged 37.7 total chances per game, while the Cardinals averaged 39.1 and the Yankees averaged 36.5. The teams with the least number of total chances include the Diamondbacks, Rays, Giants, Marlins, Brewers, and Yankees.

He was a two sport star in college, can run, hit, and play good defense. Another name to keep an eye out for is first baseman Keon Barnum. He is another left hand hitter with good power. But is it enough to turn around the franchise?

The sale jerseys have a trio of hurlers that could provide much needed help, but the ,000 question remains – do the sale jerseys want to bump up youngsters Stephen McCray, Scott Snodgress and/or Erik Johnson from the 16-10 Double-A Birmingham Barons to a foundering Knights club?

Adam Dunn, Gordon Beckham, Brent Morel or Mark Teahen, and Alex Rios were thought to be the guys that would put the southsiders among the best in the American league.

16. Arizona Diamondbacks – The Diamondbacks looked like a playoff team until the second half of the season. They need to improve that starting rotation to be a true contender.
